Creative After School Programs for Success

CAPS is dedicated to providing a sophisticated program that improves student achievement.  We have carefully chosen highly effective programs, staff, projects, and activities that meet and exceed state standards.  CAPS provide a structure for daily activities that address the specific needs of the children in the areas of reading, language arts, math, homework, enrichment, nutrition, health, and recreation.  CAPS is the leader in providing and developing safe environments for the children of San Bernardino City Schools.  CAPS participants receive mentoring, apprentice style learning, physical education, art, drama, dance, etc.  Students have opportunities for computer literacy and civic responsibilities.  We believe CAPS makes a difference in the life of a child.  CAPS is available at no cost to you through a scholarship provided by California's Proposition 49.  To participate in this program just fill out a  Registration Application, Early Release Policy form, and Home-School Partnership Agreement you can pick up f rom the site's Administrative Office as well as the District's Student Services Office.
  • The CAPS After School Program operates every school day from dismissal until 6:00pm, including modified school days.
  • Safety is a top priority in CAPS; therefore, children must sign in and be signed out of the program by an ADULT you have authorized and is listed on the child's Emergency Contact form, or be designated as a "Walker".  All individuals designated on the Emergency Contact form must be 18 years of age or older.
  • A nutritious snack is provided for students at the start of CAPS.
  • CAPS staff is dedicated to assisting your child/children with their homework.
  • CAPS accepts registration on a first come, first serve basis until full.
